ISP Hick UP Monday (09/11/09)

Morning All,

I am currently on hold with ISP waiting to speak to someone, I was woken up this morming by the server alarm.

The Router will not stay connected, it connects up for 1-2 mins then it looses sync and has to re-sync.


Soon as i have more info i will let you know.

around 1:30 am today our ISP started having problems and left MGA with with a VERY VERY unstable connection until about 8am when it died all together.

Every hour i have been on phone to ISP asking for updates on this issue.

Finnaly around 5pm i was told they have found the issue and awaiting BT to turn up to replace the broken hardware.

So the ISP tells me the network cards in the server MGA connects to for its inet pipe, all the network cards had died and or had issues.
dont ask me why it takes 17+ hpurs to find the problem and fix it.
If this had happened to MGA max downtime woulda been 1 hour, thats time for me to run to shop buy new cards and insert them not rocket sience.

So ISP tells me the BT guy is now on site fixing this, lets see how lng it takes a BT guy to replace some network cards, its been 17 mins alrdy

its now 19:20

a full 80 mins of engineer working and we had a glimps of a connection.


i would say by 20:00 server time, we should be backt o full operations, if nto a bit sooner.

Not an act of God. Just something very unfortunate, and totally out of your hands. But I must say say the one good thing here. That Mr Big is quick smart in getting these issues fixed. At times faster then the GM responce to server issues in retial. Woot for Mr Big.
