Hiya all,

This coming Monday (10/08/2009), ANY time from 8am-10pm the MGA serevrs will go offline for 30-60 mins while out connection is re-routed onto the new high speed line/equipment we have just had fitted.

As this work will be carried out remotly there will be no warning.

Please note due to this big change the mina IP address for MGA will change. It can take 2-3 hours for the public DNS servers online to pick up this change, you can how ever speed this up by doing the following.

Clikc Start and then Run, type in "CMD" (with no ") and click run/open
in the DOS (black) window type (again without ") "IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS" . Vista users will need to be in admin mode.
This will clear your DNS cache and force a new download.

Once the new ISP goes live on friday as a player once you have re-connected everything will be as before BUT WITH NO LAG EVERY AGAIN!!!!!!

small update, i just had a call from the new ISP, the 3rd party engineers (BT) have put of finsihing the installation of our line until monday.

please note due this last min chnage by BT, it may cause a couple of hours downtime on monday, as i booked Friday (07/08) off work to be on site with servers todo move to new lines. On monday when the change will take place i will be at work, but i will be monitoring everything from work, once the chnage has taken place and at the earliest possible time i will nip home from wotk to fit the new equipment.

also please note once this swap takes palce ALL MGA services will be offline until i install the new equipment (IRC/WebSite/Realms/UT/FL/Etc. all offline)

once install the new equipment everything will come back up :)

I agree with the above no need to apologise at all. Actually 2 thumbs up from me for keeping us players in the open about what happens, before it actually happens. I think you all know it's something I'm a little picky about.

Anyways this should be awesome really soon. Thanks.

as i will be at work when the swap over is done, i have left detailed instructions with my local onsite IT support (the wife lol).

so when the time comes she will remove the old reouter and add the new router in its place, i have some very basic config on the new router so i "should" be able to complete the install remotly but we will see

The new system is live and everything is working, we are JUST waiting for the engineer to move the cable, disconnect it form the old ISP and connect it to the new one.

Very Off topic, It looks as though its looping. Comes online but then after a few seconds D/C's. I cannot say for sure as Biglad isn't around :(

I was noticing that, I'd get on long enough to get a brief whiff of StormWind air and punt, hhehe...
Is the server itself rebooting or just an app? If it is an app, the server prolly needs a reboot.
